Farm Fresh Eggs
Our eggs come from three heritage breeds - Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, and Jersey Giants. They are mobile pasture-raised, meaning we move their coop every few days so they can forage fresh grass and bugs year-round. We also supplement with fresh leftover veggies and greens, and an organic dry and fermented feed.
Our eggs are unwashed to keep the natural protective coating on, and they are ungraded. For longer storage, we recommend keeping them in the fridge. For safety, wash your hands after handling and rinse eggs before cooking.
We are also working on a collaboration with a local non-profit organization to donate our eggs. We'll be doing a matching donation for each dozen eggs sold through our website. We'll keep you posted once we finalize the details of this collaboration.
Storage Guide:
- Room temp: 3-4 weeks
- Fridge: up to 3 months
Freshness Test:
Place an egg in a cup of water. If it sinks, it's fresh; if it floats, compost it.
Pick-up/Delivery (Local Hudson Valley):
If you are a current CSA member, your egg order will be ready the same time as your flower delivery/pick up.
If you are interested in picking up at the farm, leave a message in the order note at checkout. We'll reach out to coordinate a pick-up time slot.
