Hey there, I am Rosa. Here's my story.

Inspiration Behind The Name

I named the farm Wing Ming (永明) after my dad’s stationery business in Macau that he had for 40 years, a place that shaped so much of my childhood before living in the States. Carrying on this name is my way of honoring him and the sacrifices my parents made—because I wouldn’t be here, doing this work, without them.

When you ask my dad what Wing Ming means, he’ll tell you it’s “ever bright”—a guiding light, a symbol of hope and perseverance. To me, it’s a reminder to move forward with care, to build something that lasts, and to tend to both land and community with that same quiet perseverance he’s always taught me.

For me, Wing Ming (永明) is a gentle reminder that, even in uncertainty, we can grow with intention, care for the land, and nurture joy in our communities.

Meet the Farmer

Rosa Ng (she/her) is a Chinese American artist, educator, and farmer who blends creative practice with ecological stewardship. With a background in design and fiber arts, she sees farming as an extension of storytelling—each flower carrying the history of the soil it grew from.

In 2023, Rosa deepened her knowledge of sustainable agriculture through a seven-month apprenticeship at a CSA vegetable farm in New Paltz, where she grew food for the community and engaged in food justice work. As a Design Justice Fellow at The Center for Urban Pedagogy, she explored how art and design can drive equity and inclusion—values that shape her work at Wing Ming Farm.

Why Local Flowers Matter

Nearly 80% of flowers sold in the U.S. are imported, traveling thousands of miles and hands before reaching you. These flowers are often grown using chemical-intensive methods to meet the demands of mass production and long-distance shipping.

At Wing Ming Farm, there’s no middleman — just flowers grown with care, passed directly from our hands to yours. When you choose local flowers, you know where they come from and who grew them. Every bloom is cut fresh, grown using regenerative practices that nourish the soil, support pollinators, and reduce our carbon footprint.

Local flowers aren’t just more sustainable—they’re more meaningful. They carry the story of the land, the seasons, and the hands that tended them.

Regenerative Packaging

We strive to be as plastic-free and zero-waste as possible. Everything you receive from us is compostable—even the flowers!

Local Agriculture

By choosing locally grown blooms over imports, we reduce our carbon footprint, nurture biodiversity, and strengthen our regional farm networks.

Sustainable Livelihood

We prioritize living wages, climate-conscious working conditions to provide stability for our next generation of farmers.

Accessibility

We offer solidarity bouquets and sliding-scale pricing to make flowers accessible. Donate to our Flowers For All Fund, and we’ll match every dollar.
